Swiss-made Solar Impulse 2 made its first test flight on Monday morning over Switzerland. In 2015, the plane will travel around the world non-stop.

The aircraft spent two hours and 17 minutes in the air above western Switzerland. They plan several other flights over the coming months before the final world tour next year.

The Solar Impulse 2 is a bigger and better version of a single-seat prototype that first took flight five years ago.
